yesterday Facebook released a updated version of their Facebook Android application. Facebook for Android 1.5 update is a fairly big deal, and brings some important new features. The Facebook mobile team has finally added real-time chat support, which we know as Facebook Chat.

One of the biggest holes has finally been filled by Facebook regarding their Android app. It has been one of the most sought after features for Android users. The Facebook chat itself is exactly like it is on the web version. It is a bit slow to load, but once it’s up and running, you’re good to go.

The other important feature that Facebook added in this update is Push Notifications. You can notifications for either friend requests, messages and event invites. You can be notified by LED flash, ringtone, or vibrate or any combination of the three. You must be running Android 2.2+ for the notifications to work.
