For months since the launch of the iPad most consumers had to wait 7 to 10 days for shipping when ordering the device from the Apple online store. Now it appears new orders placed for the 3G + Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi only iPad will be shipped within 24 hours.

This change would indicate that Apple has finally started to catch up to demand for the iPad, which sold 3.27 million units in its first three months in the marketplace. The main reason for the delays have been related to manufacturing difficulties, with part suppliers unable to provide components fast enough.
