Step 2: Connect your iPad 2 or iPhone 4S to your Mac or Windows computer using a USB cable and launch the Absinthe tool and you will be presented with a GUI

Step 3: You will notice a button on the right hand side of the Absinthe program which says ‘Jailbreak’. Once your device is connected, click that button to begin the process. What looks like a restore will begin on your device with the words ‘Restoring in Progress’ being present. Please do not touch the device, the process can be quite time consuming.

Step 4: Once the restore is completed, unlock your iPhone / iPad and look for the ‘Absinthe’ icon which will now be located on your device’s Springboard. Tapping the icon will momentarily launch the GreenPois0n website, before causing your device to reboot. After the reboot is completed, the aforementioned Absinthe icon will now be replaced by a beautiful brown Cydia one.

Step 5: The steps are all over. Your device is booted into a jailbroken state. You can now launch Cydia and follow through the process of setting up your favorite tweaks and extensions.

As you can see, the process has been made as simple as possible using this new powerful tool. The steps ands relatively easy and there isn’t much work involved, but remember to make that important back up.

Step 2: Make a drop-call to 611, which is AT&T’s customer service number. Once you’ve dropped the call, activate Airplane mode.

Step 3: Remove your AT&T SIM and replace with the T-Mobile one

Step 4: Ensure that Wi-Fi is deactivated completely by ‘forgetting’ any automatically connected networks.

Step 5: Now deactivate Airplane mode. Your device will begin searching for a signal. You will be met with the Apple splash screen followed by the familiar activation screen.

Step 6: EDGE network should automatically activate, and if all has gone well, you should see that “E” in the top-left corner of your iPhone’s screen.

Step 7: After a 20-30 second waiting period, switch your phone off, and back on again. You should once again see that Activation Required screen.

Step 8: Once you notice a signal bar, hit Use Cellular Connection

Step 9: Eject your SIM, after which you will see the activation notice for the third and final time.

Step 10: Finally, re-insert your SIM, and your device should be unlocked!

sn0wbreeze 2.6.1: Verizon love!

Well, after i0n1c released his untether exploit for 4.3.1, Apple shortly pushed out 4.3.2 AND 4.2.7. i0n1c’s payload was ported over to 4.3.2 in a short period of time but not 4.2.7. This made Verizon users very frustrated.

I originally ordered a Verizon iPhone 4 for my upcoming SHSH blobs dumper. Then I + many others on twitter realized that an untether was not available for 4.2.7. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sick and didn’t do much, but today I was finally able to get the strength to work on this Verizon untether. Since i0n1c’s payload is not easily reversible, I went to previous exploits.

After trying, pod2g’s + posixninja’s kernel exploit for 4.2.x is STILL in 4.2.7! After some more work, I managed to get this thing untethered!

So, this new release includes that new payload to untether + jailbreak 4.2.7.

2. Download & Install iTunes 10.2

3. Download Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9

4. Start iTunes and Update iPhone 4/3GS to iOS 4.3.1

5. Once you complete update process, start Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9 and click on browse and select firmware for respective devices,

iPhone3,1_4.3.1_8G4_Restore.ipsw for iPhone 4

iPhone2,1_4.3.1_8G4_Restore.ipsw for iPhone 3GS

6. Now click on Next and let Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9 prepare data for jailbreak.

7. Once Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9 completes preparing jailbreak data, a screen with set of options will be provided.

8. Now select “Install Cydia” and click Next.

9. Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9 will ask you to turn off your idevice and connect to PC/Mac, click on next once you connect idevice to computer

10. At this stage Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9 will ask you to put your iPhone in DFU mode, follow on screen instructions to do this

1. Hold “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too for about 10 seconds.

2. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins (about 30 seconds).

11. Now just wait until Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9 completes the rest of the process. Once done, your iPhone 4 & iPhone 3GS will restart automatically.

3. Download iTunes 10.2

4. Start Sn0wbreeze 2.3b1 iOS 4.3 Jailbreak tool.

5. Click on Blue next arrow and select “Yes” on (Are you serious sure you want to do this ? ) dialogue box.

6. Now you may drag or use browse button to select iOS 4.3 IPSW file.

7. Let Sn0wbreeze 2.3b1 verify IPSW.

8. Once Sn0wbreeze 2.3b1 completes verifying IPSW process click on next arrow and select Simple mode or Export mode.

(If you rely in carrier unlock then only proceed for baseband preservation mode, keep in mind in order to unlock you must be on following baseband to make real use of preserve baseband mode).

9. At this stage Sn0wbreeze 2.3b1 will provide options to customize firmware , click on Build IPSW . & Click on blue next arrow to start custom iOS 4.3 firmware building process.

10. The firmware building process will take some time mean while you may select play Pacman to make use of your time.

11. Sn0wbreeze 2.3b1 will display done message upon successful completion of custom iOS 4.3 firmware building process.

12. Click on Ok button and follow on screen instructions.

13. At this stage Sn0wbreeze 2.3b1 DFU Pwner will ask you to connect your iPhone 4,3GS to PC & turn it off and put it in DFU mode. Click on Start button & follow on screen instructions on how to enter into DFU Mode.

Press Home and Power button for 10 Sec.

Release Power Button while keep holding Home button for 15 Sec.

14. Once Sn0wbreeze 2.3b1 detects iPhone in DFU mode it will start injecting Limera1n to enter into PWENED DFU mode.

15 Snw0breeze 2.3b1 will display message once your iPhone 4, 3GS is in Pwned DFU mode.

16. Now start your iTunes 10.2 to custom firmware.

17. Press Shift+Restore to restore custom iOS 4.3 firmware on iPhone 4, 3GS.

* Download and install iTunes 10.2.1 for Windows.
* Download Sn0wbreeze 2.3 for Windows.
* Download iOS 4.3 (Final) for iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Step 2: Start Sn0wbreeze, click the next “blue” colored arrow to proceed.

Step 3: Select the required firmware .ipsw file for your iOS device by clicking on the “Browse” button.

Step 4: Sn0wbreeze will now identify the selected IPSW file. Once done, click the next “blue” colored arrow to proceed.

Step 5: Now select the “Expert Mode”, followed by “Build IPSW” option to start creating your custom firmware.

Step 6: Sn0wbreeze will greet you with the following “Done!” message when the custom firmware has been successfully created.

Step 7: Now follow the onscreen steps to enter DFU mode using Sn0wbreeze:

* Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
* Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
* You device should now be in DFU mode

Step 8: Start iTunes, click on your iOS device icon from the sidebar in iTunes. Now press and hold Left “Shift” button on the keyboard and then click on “Restore” (Not “Update” or “Check for Update”) button in iTunes and then release this button.

This will make iTunes prompt you to select the location for your custom firmware 4.3 file. Select the required custom .ipsw file that you created above, and click on “Open”.

Step 9: Now sit back and enjoy as iTunes does the rest for you. This will involve a series of automated steps. Be patient at this stage and don’t do anything silly. Just wait while iTunes installs the new firmware 4.3 on your iOS device. Your iOS device screen at this point will be showing a progress bar indicating installation progress. After the installation is done, your iOS device will be jailbroken on iOS 4.3.

Booting in Tethered Mode

Last but not the least, since there is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3 yet, we will have to boot it into a tethered jailbroken state. To do this, we will make use of a utility on Windows named “iBooty” as shown in the steps below.

Step 10: Run iBooty for Windows and select your iOS device from the dropdown menu.

Note: iBooty is extracted to the desktop (iBooty-for-4.3) after running Sn0wbreeze 2.3.

Step 11: Now hit the “Start” button and follow the instructions on screen to enter your device in DFU mode:

* Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
* Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
* You device should now be in DFU mode

Step 12: Once you are into DFU mode, iBooty will do its thing and after a short while, your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch will be booted in a jailbroken tethered mode !

Aptupdate for SBSettings

This toggle updates and upgrades your Apt cache and packages in the background. All you have to do is to press the button and you are free to do something else while your phone updates.
